West Des Moines Chiropractor, Dr. Thad Fever

It was no miracle or one adjustment story that caught my love for chiropractic, but a passionate doctor.

My chiropractic journey actually began in this very office, with Hassel Family Chiropractic. My family began going to see Dr. Hassel when I was beginning my undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Iowa. When I was home on breaks, I would get adjusted, and Dr. Hassel would inform me piece by piece about chiropractic, the body and health. After shadowing him a few times I saw how much he loved what he did and the people that he helped. Finally it hit me: this is without question what I want to do. It was that fire and passion to get sick people well that I saw in what he did that inspired me.

I went to Palmer College of Chiropractic in lovely Davenport IA the day after I graduated from UNI. It was there that I got involved with the Gonstead Club and the Troxel Intern Program, where I later became an intern and finished my career there as the Head Intern. I cannot explain the value of what I learned through Gonstead doctors and the Intern Program in teaching me the Gonstead System.

My desire and what I strive for in practice every day is getting people well through specific chiropractic care. I believe I get to wake up every morning and go to the best job in the world. I love being passionate about what we do and educating people about their God given ability to let the body heal itself.

My wife, Stephanie, and I keep pretty busy with our two year old son Will, and baby Fever on the way. We are active in our church and community. As a family we enjoy spending time with friends, family, the outdoors, sports and all forms of exercise. I personally enjoy wrestling with my son, teaching him sports and other mischevious things, working out, spending time with my wife, anything outdoors and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

I get adjusted once a week. My wife gets adjusted once a week. My son has not been vaccinated and has been adjusted since he was born. Chiropractic care is my family's health care. I workout every day during the week and stay as active as I can with my family on the weekends. We eat as much real whole foods as we can. How can I educate people about their health if I am not living it myself?

My passion is getting people well with chiropractic care. I would love to have an opportunity to meet you and talk about how we can fit chiropractic into your health equation.

Dr. Hassel Asks some important questions of interest to West Des Moines residents - Chiropractor West Des Moines Dr. Hassel Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
